ZECHARIAH Lesson 7
What quality in your grandparents (or other deceased relation) did you not appreciate until after they had passed? So often we take for granted the ways in which those who love us do so. It may have been that we noticed that Grandma was always there to listen when we were struggling or that Grandpa made it a point to show up at every event we were ever a part of, but what we didn’t notice is how vital those actions of love were to our lives. This is the very thing with which Israel must comes to terms. Zechariah, in this last oracle of chapters 12-14, makes it clear that a new kind of recognition comes when they open the door to the king’s invitation.
