JUDGES lesson 2

So what idols are you carrying around in your backpack? I think that’s a question that we rarely take seriously, for when it comes to idols the topic seems too remote, completely removed from our day and age. And yet so much of Scripture talks about our proclivity for idol-bearing. It is, in fact, the central focus of Judges. And Paul tells us that what happened with the Israelites is ripe teaching material for us. Then our opening question becomes necessary to answer, or at least to ponder. This next lesson in chapter 3 of Judges may help us begin to see just what’s in our backpacks.
