JOB lesson 3
Would you rather plan your own birthday celebration or have a family member do it? Some of us would rather plan it ourselves, mainly because we can assure that the celebration would embody what we think would be fun. But even if you chose to have a family member plan it, my guess is that you have some stipulations attached to that choice–such as that only certain family members could do it, or that they have it at a certain venue, or spend within a certain budget. The truth is, we like control. So much so that we make life decisions based on how much control we can have.
It was no different for people of the Ancient Near East. The second set of testimonies from Job and his friends will show us that very thing. And it isn’t very pretty!
