*HEBREWS II lesson 8

Think of all the measuring devices we use each day – a scale to weigh ourselves in the morning, a measuring cup to make sure we have just the right amount of water for the oatmeal, a calendar to see just what days we have free to stick in one more activity, and of course a watch to manage our flitting from here to there. All these devices just to make sure we are on track, “right” according to some standard. And yet when someone wants to measure us with a tape measure – our bust, waist, hips – we shudder. Or perhaps its not your body you mind being measured, but your use of time (so what did you do all day?), or your amount of achievement (how much do you make?). In truth, none of us likes to be measured because we know it is a matter of falling short somewhere. Today’s lesson looks at just that subject as we compare the Old Covenant with the New Covenant.
