*HEBREWS II lesson 3

How do you deal with people who have a completely different perspective on life?  It seems that the most typical response to this question is that we find ways to avoid them, or at least avoid conversations where we have to engage in discussion over the particular differing views. What that says about us is that we are absolutely sure that our perspective is 100% correct and nothing said from a different perspective could possibly be true and enlightening. Funny thing is, it would seem that Jesus Himself would be one whose perspective is different. He does, after all, come from a different realm – that is, eternity. And I would argue that His whole desire is to give us eyes to see the eternal perspective, rather than the temporal and transactional perspective that we are so invested in. Is it possible that the reason we don’t see everything in our lives as grace is because we are unwilling to say that our perspective may need some enlightening? Let’s then look at the perspective that Jesus our faithful and merciful High Priest can give us.
