*HEBREWS II lesson 15

When is your experience of joy or gratitude most poignant – in the remembering of it, in the hope of it, or in the moment of it? Surprisingly most would say that it is in the remembering of it. It seems that we are more comfortable living in the past than we are in the present. We explain it by saying that when we look back we can see a more total picture, we know thinks “worked out”. Isn’t it funny that we attribute knowledge to even the make up of joy? I’m not sure that’s how the experience of joy, or even life, is intended. Perhaps once again we’ll have to set aside our already-built paradigms and see what God has for us in this aspect of life.
