EZRA/NEHEMIAH lesson 6

What is the point of encasing a baseball card featuring Mickey Mantle in a hard plastic sleeve? Even if we aren’t a baseball fan we understand that keeping such a card in original pristine condition protects its value. The book of Nehemiah will offer up a similar action when it comes to the image God has given us of Himself. Rebuilding walls and gates around the city of Jerusalem become the metaphor, but what exactly is it that we’re protecting, and how does it fit in with our image-bearing purposes? These are issues we will explore as we delve into Nehemiah.
