ESTHER lesson 4
Who has been the hardest authority figure you’ve been under? The question often brings up emotional wounds, or promises you’ve made of what not to be like. Essentially what we discover is that it’s really difficult to submit to authority when there is no connection, no real relationship, or that the relationship is all about one person. It should also help us go back to the beginning and ask, “what is the purpose of authority?” God says it’s about redeeming from death and equipping for life, which says something about caring, tending another’s life. Is this how we use the authority God has given us? How did Esther and Mordecai do on this front? Let’s wrap up the study of Esther with this in mind.
