PSALMS lesson 0
What is your least favorite food that you know is good for you? How would you feel if you had ordered a gourmet chocolate cake from Amazon Prime and received instead that good-but-least-favorite food? My guess is that, like me, you’d be on the computer immediately with a disgruntled “take this back – not what I ordered!” But, what if you were invited to a dignitary’s home–let’s say, the Queen of England–and that very same food was served as the main dinner? Would you simply reject it in a slightly gentler way, or would you graciously eat at least some of it? What would be the difference? That sort of change in perspective is also applicable to what the Book of Psalms has to teach us. So let’s begin and join the meal already in progress at Israel’s table!
