LAMENTATIONS lessons 1 & 2

What is it that makes you avoid someone in the grocery store? Common answers to that question include things like “not enough time,” “don’t remember their name – or they won’t remember me,” “I’m not presentable.”  The truth is, taking time to be with someone when circumstances don’t fit our sense of order is simply a matter of not being comfortable with our own brokenness. We ARE priests, but we’re all broken priests who squirm at having others see it. One of the rich gifts of Lamentations is that it displays the beauty of a shared brokenness and the place it has in healing disorder.
