LAMENTATIONS lesson 3
What is the heaviest object you have ever carried? When that question gets asked, without fail, the answer involves sharing the burden. We may have carried a solid oak table or an extra long couch or even a 60-pound backpack on a month-long journey, but there was always someone helping us move from one place to another. This is really the essential ingredient of lament. It is meant to be a process by which we are moved with the help of others toward the ultimate goal of God’s holy presence. This is the focus of the last chapters of Lamentations.
