Imagine 5 straight years of battles. Now imagine that all those battles, for all that time are over the tongue. Our words. Rather sobering, isn’t it? What more could the book of Joshua say about getting rid of words that bring death and practicing the priestly-powerful words that bring life? Perhaps it’s not simply more on the subject of good words, but rather expanding what has been said to different arenas. And so, as we look at chapters 11-17 we’ll see the subtle shift and the sad outcome of not embracing the good word in every area of our lives.
