JAMES lesson 10

How often would you say that you have face-to-face conversations? You know what I’m talking about here–times of real give-and-take, sharing of yourself and listening to another. Not so much a sharing of information but revelations of feelings and thoughts and longings. The word originally meant an “intimate living with” another in which vulnerability was required but also resulted in a building of trust which formed relationship. Though we may have lost the art of conversation today,  it is still the basis for relationship. This is exactly how James closes out his letter, emphasizing the need to practice and encourage conversation. Let’s take a look at the conversation called prayer.
