JAMES lesson 0

Are you fluent in any other language than English? Do you wish to be so? As we begin a new adventure into the book of James, perhaps we will gain some language skills along the way. At the very least, we must come to terms with the language in which James is written. And I don’t mean Greek. We will explore the idea that underneath the words we use there are various contextual languages by which we convey the meanings of what we want to say.  Attention to James’ contextual language will be extremely helpful in interpreting his meaning, and in the process, interpreting our own lives. So let’s get to it!
