*HEBREWS II lesson 17
What does it mean to celebrate? Ask a room full of women that question and it might seem like you would get that many different answers. But the truth is just about everyone would agree that there are just a few specific components that make up celebration. Yes, of course, the way those components play out may be different for each individual, but they still seem to employ the same basic essentials as everyone else. The common elements I see in celebrations are: a good circumstance that calls for recognition; a gathering of some kind (and often food!) to mark that recognition; and an atmosphere of happiness shared. And what we come to realize is that is exactly what living in the kingdom looks like. Even now. It really encompasses all that Hebrews has talked about in living the eucharisteo life. And so an appropriate way for the author of Hebrews to begin to bring his exhortation to a close in this last half of chapter 12.
