EXODUS lesson 5
Do you remember bringing home your first baby from the hospital? Were you non-chalant about him, not caring who was handling him or if he was fed or not? I highly doubt it. That baby was your precious own and you were all about protecting him and providing for him the very best. To that end you may have even started right out getting him used to a schedule. And what was the purpose of that? Was it not to instill in him a rhythm that would cause him to thrive? There is a time to eat, a time to let that food digest and give energy, a time to rest. Each and every piece an important aspect of growing. And upsetting that rhythm often had consequences – a cranky baby, then a cranky mom, and things start to fall apart quickly. It’s not a coincidence that children do best following a rhythm. God has designed all of nature to follow rhythms, and we as His children, benefit just the same. Just what kind of rhythms has God set forth in Exodus for the vitality of His children?
