COVENANT lecture 3

If you were arrested today, what non-family member would you call? It’s interesting to note that almost universally we think of a friend, particularly a friend who wouldn’t be judgmental. It seems what is foremost in our minds is the need to shield ourselves from shame and protect our feelings of worth. Why doesn’t anyone ask for a lawyer? Someone who could legally defend us? Someone who has the expertise and power to keep us out of serious trouble?

As we look today at the covenant practice of giving weapons and belt we will discover how God has obligated Himself to come to our defense. And we may be surprised at just how serious the trouble might be if we don’t let Him do His job.
