2 TIMOTHY lessons 4/5
What is the ONE thing that you make sure you never run out of? I was surprised when I asked this question to the class and there were so many responses of “coffee.” And I’m a die-hard coffee drinker! Yet I think it represented well all of the other answers, for most of the answers were not the bare essentials for life such as water, but the essentials of our desires. Cell phone power, diet coke, chips. I believe that speaks to what we think is really life. The enjoyable things, the things that give us satisfaction and contentment. And so these things help to shape the very patterns of our lives. We plan around them, we think about them, in short, we pay close attention to their being there for us. And, of course, you know full well that Paul will use this same line of thinking in encouraging Tim with the very essential of life.
