2 TIMOTHY lesson 0
Can you recall a nickname from your childhood? What emotions does it evoke? That would have to depend on the purpose you were given the name. Was it a term of endearment or perhaps a way to put you down? Whichever it was it was by all accounts a means of connecting or disconnecting. Of saying that you were dear, special to someone or that you weren’t. It spoke to your worth as far as that name-giver saw it. And so we begin this study of 2 Timothy looking at the basic need of human beings: the need to belong, to know they are of value, loved. We start here because its where Paul starts in this very personal letter to Timothy. And, so, the journey begins. Oh, and of course, be ready to have your favorite paradigms shaken!
